What is Dental Bonding?

Dental Bonding is the bonding of material to the tooth surface. It is an option we may consider for restoring a tooth in small cosmetic fixes.

When Would I Consider Dental Bonding?

Dental Bonding is done in situations of small chips or cracks in teeth, or to fill in small gaps. Bonding may even be considered to lengthen teeth or hide discoloration.

How is Dental Bonding Done?

Using a durable resin material, Mary K. Parent, DMD, can make these small repairs. She will begin by etching a bit of the natural tooth structure. Then the material, which is a composite of ceramic and resin, is applied, shaped, and hardened to your tooth structure.

The cost is significantly less than larger processes such as Veneers or Crowns but does not offer the same strength and durability. The lifespan of Dental Bonding can be expected to be between 3-10 years.
